Gilles Marini Buys Wife Her Dream House as Birthday Present

In addition to the house, he also writes her a poem that read, "Eleven years of sweat, blood and tears. You never gave up ... It is a small way of showing you how I'm feeling."

French actor Gilles Marini goes all out for his wife Carole's 32nd birthday party on Wednesday night, September 30, presenting her with "the house she has dreamed of for years," People reports. "We have lived in this [apartment] complex for about five, six years, and every day we walk around the neighborhood. She always saw this one house on our walk and said, 'This is my dream house.' A month ago we saw the house was for sale," he explains.

In a bid to keep his birthday present secret before Carole's birthday came, Gilles had his real estate agent telling her that the four-bedroom, 3,000-sq.-ft. house which is located in Studio City, Calif. had already been sold to someone else. It was during her birthday dinner on Wednesday with family and friends in attendance that he surprised her with the gift.

Presenting her with a birthday card, "inside I put a picture of the house and a poem I wrote her," Gilles recalls. "It goes: Eleven years of sweat, blood and tears. You never gave up ... It is a small way of showing you how I'm feeling. I love you, my wife, my soul, my everything." He adds, "She pretty much died inside out. I was crying. Everybody at the table was crying ... It was one of the best days of my life."

Gilles Marini, who earned his fame in U.S. after starring as Dante in comedy-romance film "Sex and the City", has been married to Carole since 1998. They are parents to two children; son Georges and daughter Juliana.
