Big break: Lily Collins is bound for Hollywood

Phil Collins's stunning 21-year-old daughter Lily is to star in a £35million new Hollywood movie.

The role in the thriller Abduction will earn her more than £1million - and Phil was one of the first to know about it.

A source said last night: 'This is Lily's big break. She has always dreamed of being as big a star as her father. Lily is close to him and he was the first person she called when she got the job.'

Lily admitted recently: 'Dad and I are so close. Nothing makes me prouder than when someone tells me my dad's music has touched them.

'But I always want to be a success in my own right. It is my dream to be a major voice in Young Hollywood.'

Lily - Phil's daughter with his second wife, American Jill Tavelman --started acting when she was two, in the BBC series Growing Pains.

She was six when her parents split and Jill returned to her native Los Angeles with Lily. She has been modelling since she was 16 and had a bit part in Sandra Bullock's recent Oscar-winning movie The Blind Side.

In the new film she will star opposite Taylor Lautner, heart-throb from the movie Twilight, about young vampires. Abduction is a thriller about a young man who sets out with his girlfriend, played by Lily, to uncover the truth about his life after finding a picture of himself as a child on a missing persons website. The movie starts filming later this year in Pittsburgh.

Phil, 59, began his entertainment career as a child actor and is now worth an estimated £100million. He has five children from three marriages and has homes in Switzerland, New York and England.
