WAG wannabe: Ashley Cole enjoyed the attention of several new acquaintances on a night out in Los Angeles


Since announcing his split from wife Cheryl Cole in February, Ashley has been too busy playing football for Chelsea and England to enjoy his newfound singledom.

But after England spectacularly crashed out of the World Cup a week ago, he's finally free to mingle as he holidays in California.

After a fling with lapdancer Sarah Purnell, it looked like settling down with her was the last thing on his mind as he surrounded himself with scantily clad females in Los Angeles last night.

The defender, 29, arrived in LA on Saturday with a group of friends for a lads' holiday.

And the friends wasted no time in hitting the local nightspots as they ventured to the Guys And Dolls Lounge in West Hollywood last night.

Looking like he had cheered up again following his World Cup disappointment, Ashley was seen chatting to three different women outside the club.

One woman, wearing a black top with plunging neckline, even ended up flashing her breasts at him.

Some of his newfound friends then followed the footballer to his hotel to continue the party.

Cole's flirtatious behaviour comes a week after his lover Purnell sold her story about their brief relationship to a weekly magazine.

Despite widespread reports she was his girlfriend, she admitted they only had two 'dates' - the night they met at the Supper Club on May 2 and a second hook-up on June 1, just before Ashley flew to South Africa.

The aspiring singer told a magazine last week how they had been texting each other every day during the World Cup.

The 23-year-old told New! magazine: 'It’s early days, I can’t really say (if it's long-term). I’ve only seen him a couple of times.

The X Factor judge has been ordered to rest by doctors after fainting at a photoshoot on Saturday after suffering from 'exhaustion'.
