‘People work their whole lives for your talent, that was amazing!’ 16-year-old Amelia wows X Factor judges as they agree 'a star is born'

A star is born: 16-year-old Amelia Lily wows the judges with her incredible singing ability

And Tulisa was equally complementary of her talent and was like the other judges amazed at her age, given her strong vocal ability.

The N-Dubz singer said: ‘People work their whole lives and take forever to get to that level that you are at now, you’ve come on that stage so much older than you years.

She added: ‘That was amazing you blew up the stage, your energy was off the chain, well done.’

Before the teenager took to the stage she said her father offered her the support and encouragement to audition for the show.

She said: ‘I’m overwhelmed but you have to go out there and give it rock all as my dad would say.’


Amazed: Tulisa couldn't believe that Amelia was just sixteen years old and said: 'People work their whole lives and take forever to get to that level you're at now,' adding: 'That was amazing'

As she sang her first few notes Gary was seen nodding at the others and Tulisa and Kelly sported huge grins across their faces.

Amelia Lily appeared overwhelmed by the attention and thanked the positive reaction and had to fight back the tears as the judges gushed about her performance.


Blown away: Gary was overwhelmed by her performance and said: 'Oh my Goodness, 16-years-old that was incredible. That absolutely lifted the top off this arena, well done. Amazing vocals. Amelia I am blown away'

Kelly told her: 'I'm still having a hard time understanding that you're 16-years-old with such a natural gift, your energy was great, you've got this big beautiful voice with so much soul beyond your years, you were born to do this.'

She later added: 'You have only just scratched the surface, that's what's got me so amazed.'

And Gary told the teen: 'This is the reason I wanted to sit on this chair, to discover talent like this.'


Amazing: After being so well-received Amelia told Dermot: 'That is what I want to do for the rest of my life'

After receiving four Yeses from the judges and exited the stage Louis remarked that the girls category was the one to watch. He said: 'The girls, that catergory, wow, wow, wow.'

As she greeted her parents backstage Amelia told Dermot that the experience was 'amazing'.

She added: 'This is what I want for the rest of my life, it's just unbelievable.

'I got a man': Tulisa seemed happy with her half naked butler and she and Kelly wasted no time in getting hands on with him

Earlier in the show Tulisa was presented with a very special gift to celebrate her birthday from the rest of the judges, as they started their day at Liverpool.

The N-Dubz singer was presented with a huge present which she was nervous about opening.

She took off the lid to reveal her very own naked butler, who was on hand to tend to her every need throughout the day.

Kelly told her: 'You can touch it, you can play with if if you like, feel and touch.'


Through to bootcamp: Hairdresser Marcus Collins wowed the judges and 19-year-old Emma Wright also got yeses from the judges going through to the next stage of the competition


As the judges took the stage they were greeted with the first act of the day, hairdresser Marcus Collins.

And the 23-year-old didn't disappoint as he wowed the judges with his unique singing ability and sparkling personality.

Following his performance Tulisa told him: 'I didn't even feel like you were auditioning, I felt like I had come to see you perform, that's how it felt, you were so comfortable up there, you literally owned the stage, loved it. That was outstanding.'

Not impressed: Kelly didn't appreciate the audition saying she preferred her sisters version while Gary clearly didn't know where to look

19-year-old Emma Wright also bagged herself a spot at boot camp after singing Christina Aguilera's Aint No Other Man which left Tulisa calling her a little pop star.

But it was not good news for Tara Burgin who left the judges unimpressed with her rendition of Beyonce's hit Crazy in Love.

Kelly hide behind a piece of paper while Gary clearly did not know where to look while Tara was shaking her bottom.

The former Destiny's Child singer told Tara that she prefered her sister's version of the song and the 29-year-old left disappointed.

After a shaky star and a second chance Jonjo Kerr, 27, from Birmingham managed to get through to the next round with his performance of Stereophonics song Handbags and Gladrags.


Through: Jonjo, who revealed his pregnant wife was 14 days to her due date and managed to convince the judges to put him through to bootcamp

Kelly was moved to tears and said: 'I was so happy to see you come out of yourself for just that second and that moment you just seemed so happy, so I was happy for you.'

And the other judges agreed with Miss Rowland and the soilder was sent through to boot camp

Incredible: Jade Richards wowed the judges with her heartfelt performance of Adele's Someone Like You on The X Factor



There have been criticisms in the past that too many X Factor contestants have auditioned by performing Adele songs.



But there were no complaints tonight as Jade Richards took to the stage to perform the huge ballad Someone Like You.



The 21-year-old reduced judges Kelly Rowland and Louis Walsh to tears with her emotional, heartfelt performance.

Talking to the judges about why she wanted to take part in the X Factor, Jade said: 'Most people where I stay don't do much at all so this would hopefully give me the boost that I need to do something.'



And asked who was there supporting her, Jade replied: 'My gran, my gran is quality, she used to be a singer as well so that's where I got my influence from. She just encourages me all the time, and supports everything that I do.'



After her incredible performance, Jade received a standing ovation from both Kelly and Tulisa.

Kelly, who struggled to control her emotions, told an equally-emotional Jade: 'I'm so emotional. I whispered to Gary before you started singing - if this audition goes the way I think it's going to go then it's going to be amazing.



'Because I had a dream about this song. And the fact you came here and stood on that x and sang that song so beautiful. You have the X Factor and then some.'





Amazed: All four judges were stunned by the performance, with Tulisa and Kelly on their feet at the end of the audition





Tulisa added: 'While you were singing I felt I heard your whole life story through your voice.' Gary added: 'That was absolutely fantastic. You have blown this whole place away. Jade, that performance is going to change your life.'



And Louis, who was also very emotional, told Jade: 'You have a God-given talent and you just make the whole show worthwhile, I'm so glad we cam here.

'I've been doing this show for 8 years and this it's what it's all about - finding someone who deserves a break, and you deserve a break because you've got talent.'



The auditions opened with David Wilder, 42, who told the judges he wanted 'to be a rock legend like David Wilder'.



Belting out David Bowie's Life On Mars, Wilder came down to the panel to sing directly to the judges, before running up and down the steps and singing to the audience.





Afterwards, Kelly said: 'I think all of us should want to be a little bit more like David Wilder. I really enjoyed it.'



Tulisa added: 'I don't know what's going on but I actually really enjoyed that.' Louis said: 'I enjoyed it to because I love David Bowie.'



And Gary concluded: 'Bad tuning, bad timing, bad diction, no connection to the song. Having said all of that, I absolutely loved it. It was so wrong that it was so good.'

So Wilder got four yeses from the judges, and will soon be on his way to bootcamp.

Next up was 16-year-old Lemuel Knights, who got four yeses from the judges.



Another teenager Max Mackay, also 16, also wowed the panel with his unique tone and cute looks, going straight through to bootcamp.



Lizzie Colbourne, 16, was also put through with four yeses.



Luke Lucas, 16 from Margate in Kent admitted he was nervous about performing in front of Tulisa. The teenager told his idol that she looked beautiful, before giving her a quick peck on the cheek.



Performing Who's Loving You by Michael Jackson, Luke strutted his stuff on the stage, before belting out some incredible notes.

Afterwards, Tulisa said: 'You are so cute, where did that voice come from? You are going to woo the ladies in this competition.



Kelly added: 'To come here at 16 with such confidence, I'm so impressed.' Louis said: 'You've got the voice, you've got the personality and you've got Tulisa!'

And Gary added: 'You don't learn to sing like that, you are born with a voice like that. It was amazing.'





Smitten: Luke, who admitted he was in love with Tulisa, was thrilled to receive a kiss on the cheek from the judge





Needless to say, Luke got four yeses from the judges and was put straight through to the next round.



Next to audition was Michael Lewis, who was back as himself after last year performing as Michael Jackson.



He told Dermot O'Leary before going on: 'I have learned from my mistakes and realised that last year I was hiding behind a persona. This year it's all changed, new vocals, new tune and new positivity.'



The 27-year-old performed Geri Halliwell's Look At Me, but failed to impress with his out-of-tune singing and cringemaking dance moves.

Afterwards, Gary said: 'I've got a feeling the audience weren't clapping because they liked your talent.'



Tulisa: 'That was very surreal and all just a bit weird.'



But Michael who, by this point, had sat down on the stage, was given four nos from the judges.

However, he refused to leave, telling the audience: 'This is my stage, I belong on this stage, what part of that do you not understand?'



Eventually, Gary got up from his seat, gave Michael his jacket and pushed him off the stage, telling him, "Thank you very much, nice to meet you.'



And the bad singers just kept on coming, with Anamelia Silva, 23, dismissed for her arrogance, and Mitchell Webb, who just couldn't sing.

Jade Freeman was up next, trying to rap her through the audition, and storming off when Tulisa told her rapping wasn't singing.



And Carina Senn told the judges to clean their ears out after being told she couldn't sing.



Next up was girlband Angel, who performed terrible melodies and as they attempted to sing Willow Smith's Whip My Hair.





I'm not going anywhere: Michael lay on the stage and refused to move until Gary Barlow escorted him off





After the audition, Tulisa said: 'All the energy and all the dance moves is to cover up the fact that none of you can really sing.'



But one of the girls was unhappy with the comments, telling Tulisa: 'That's a bit rich coming from you.'



And Kelly's fellow judge was quick to support her fellow judge, telling the band: 'I understand you have an opinion, but you have to realise that you came here for us to judge you.'

The next Aretha Franklin? Teenager Misha Bryan labelled a contender by judges after confident performance of Respect

A real contender: Misha Bryan wowed the judges on The X Factor with her powerful audition



A teenager from Manchester won rave reviews from the judges on The X Factor tonight after her confident performance of Aretha Franklin's Respect.



Misha Bryan, 19, got a standing ovation from the audience and a hug from judge Kelly Rowland after her unique combination of huge notes and rapping.



After her audition, Mischa was labelled a contender for the X Factor prize by judge Gary Barlow.







Amazing: Kelly Rowland was up on her feet as Misha belted out Aretha Franklin's Respect





Before taking to the stage, Misha said: 'I want to be a worldwide star and bring smiles to people's faces.



'I'm excited but nervous and I know that before I get on stage my heart will be pounding.'



Misha also spoke about her 'tricky' upbringing, explaining: 'When I was 3 months old, for reasons I don't know, my mum was unable to look after me, and I don't know who my father is, so my auntie raised me and looked after me ever since.



'When I start talking about her, I always find myself speechless and I start getting emotional. She, to me, is one of the greatest people I know, she's amazing.





Stunned: Kelly and Gary Barlow were incredibly impressed with 19-year-old Misha's performance





'If I do get four yeses today, I know she'll be very proud. Just to make her proud in itself - I'll do anything.'



Kelly was up dancing as Misha started rapping in the middle of the song, before coming down to the judges' table and singing directly to the panel.



Afterwards, Tulisa Contostavlos said: 'That was exciting. I loved that audition, everything was brilliant. Your style is on point, you had attitude, best audition of the day.'



Gary added: 'That was absolutely fantastic and you know that was fantastic and that confidence we haven't seen a lot of yet.'





Another SuBo? Johnny Harrison, 45, from Harrow vowed to get Botox if he gets through to the live shows





Louis Walsh added: 'You deserve to be on that stage. that's the way to do an audition.



And Kelly added: 'I'm still moving because I am so happy for you. This was a really great audition. You came out here and you rocked it. I'm so proud of you.'



The auditions opened this evening at London's O2 Arena, with thousands of hopefuls queuing up with the aim of impressing judges Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, Tulisa Contostavlos and Kelly Rowland.



Before the auditions began, Gary said: 'I want to see somebody who gets us all on our feet clapping and if we don't see that I'll be really disappointed with London.'



The first singer to take to the stage was 45-year-old Johnny Robinson from Harrow, who sang Etta James' At Last.

Talking to the cameras for his audition, Johnny said: 'My dream would be to make an album and to be taken seriously as a singer. To perform at the O2, where a lot of my idols have performed, is amazing.



'When I'm at the side of the stage and about to go on, I will be nervous but I'm very excited. This could be my last chance, I've got nothing to lose.'



While the judges looked apprehensive ahead of his performance, they were soon stopped in their tracks by Johnny's unique voice.

After receiving a standing ovation from the audience, and cheers from the judges, Louis told a clearly emotional Johnny: 'When you walked out I wasn't expecting that at all. But it was amazing.'



Tulisa added: 'Johnny, you've got the shock factor! I was expecting a little person to jump out from underneath your hat and go, "Cooee, that's me singing!"'

Kelly said: 'You are sugary, lovely, delicious - i really enjoyed myself listening to you.'



And Gary concluded: 'Johnny, I think you’ve got a great personality, I think people are really going to warm to you. I just thought that was an amazing audition, I think you’ve got a fabulous personality.

After Johnny was given four yeses from the judges, Gary told the rest of the panel: 'I love that when someone walks out and you don't expect that. He's straight out of a Carry On film!'



Samantha Hallam was next up, stunned with boyfriend Paul Ricketts climbed on stage to ask her to marry him.



Ricketts appealed to the judges if he can 'borrow just a short moment of your time for Samantha', before getting down on one knee.



He told her: 'I wanted to... will you marry me?'



To the delight of the judges and the audience at London's O2 Arena, she replied 'yes' and the pair embraced.

And the judges then gave her the best wedding present ever by saying yes to Samantha's audition and putting her through tot he next stage.



Up next was Derry Mensah, 20, who professed his love for judge Kelly Rowland before taking to the stage.



Before taking to the stage, the 20-year-old declares: 'Kelly Rowland is my ultimate woman, she’s beautiful, everything about her is beautiful, when someone says her name, I just get love struck.



'Every single day I dream about being a big superstar or walking the red carpet with Kelly Rowland, I want Kelly Rowland to marry me.'





It's a no from us: Mark was the first auditionee up in Liverpool, but didn't impress the judges





The Burger King employee impresses all the judges with Usher's Can You Help Me, and makes a good impression of the ex-Destiny's Child star.



As Kelly tried to give him feedback, he interrupted her with an 'I love you'.



Kelly replied: 'Yes, come on, we are serious right now.... Alright, let’s get to business. Derry, I really like your voice, but I would like to see you in a group.'

But after Tulisa disagreed with the comments about him being in a group, Derry was given four yeses from the judges, and the opportunity to give his dream woman Kelly a kiss on the cheek.



Another fliratious contestant was up next, Perry Devonish, who offered to lift up his top and Kelly to count his six-pack.



She smirked: 'Can you lift it up one more time, I just have to count...







You don't have the X Factor: The Duos didn't impress the judges with their audition and left them laughing





'My darling I must admit I love your abs a little bit more than your voice, its going to be a no from me, but I am going to be dreaming about those abs. I counted; it was all eight, just nice.



'I’m slightly distracted, I’m so embarrassed. I like them a little rough, a little beard.'



But the person who appeared to have the biggest effect on Kelly was Joseph Castle, 24, who left Kelly red-faced and blushing with his audition.



Next up was Stefan Romer, 19, who performed the Beatles' Come Together and got four yeses from the judges.





Giggles: Louis and Kelly couldn't stop laughing at The Duos' audition





Then it was time for the auditions to make their way to Liverpool for the first time in the history of the X Factor.



First up in Liverpool was Mark, 21, who did not impress the judges with his rendition of Rihanna's The Only Girl In The World.



Gary said: 'The singing was truly horrible, you didn't sing once in tunes. I'm sorry, it was a terrible audition.'



And the other judges agreed, giving him four nos.





Do they have what it takes? Bromanse looked the part but didn't impress with their voices





Craig Colton, 22, was next up, admitting to Dermot O'Leary he would be auditioning without the knowledge of his parents, who were sitting inside the arena.



Singing Adele's Hiding My Heart Away, Craig left his parents in tears with his emotional and rousing performance.



Afterwards, Gary said: 'You seem really shocked by the reaction of the audience. You deserve all the applause you got today. Congratulations, that was an amazing audition.'



Tulisa added: 'I'm not going to lie, I didn't expect you to have a vocal like that, and you're funny as well. I love it.'





Are you a boy or a girl? Louis couldn't decide if this auditionee was a boy or a girl





And Craig was put straight through to the next round, with four yeses.



Next to audition was a married couple, who went as The Duos for their group name.



The pair decided to sing Beyonce's If I were A Boy, but were met with laughter from the audience with their off-key rendition of the track.

Kelly said: 'That didn't go well at all.'





Magnificent: The Keys look like they could be the next big boy band





And The Duos were then given four nos from the judges.



Five-piece Bromanse were up next, but again did not have what it takes to make it through to the next round.



Louis was then left red-faced when he couldn't tell whether one part of duo Poetic Justice was a boy or a girl.



Gary said afterwards: 'What was that, it's like you just met at a bus stop.'





The new Mark Owen: Gary particularly pointed out Charlie's voice, and likened him to Mark Owen



But there to change the judges' minds about the groups on the day was five-piece The Keys, who sang and rapped their way through Aloe Blacc's I Need A Dollar.



Gary was first to comment, saying: 'Guys, that was magnificent! Really good! You, Mark Owen in the middle, I love your voice. You've individually got great voices and you work well as a team. I just thought it was awesome.'



Tulisa added: 'You rocked the stage, all the harmonies and everything were tight.'

X Factor Frankie is a cheeky liar, say girls behind the names of his sleazy tattoo

It was the moment that confirmed this year’s X Factor is set to be the sleaziest yet.

Eighteen-year-old Frankie Cocozza bared his bottom to the nation to expose the tattooed names of seven girls he claimed were summer conquests.



Now, as the Mail reveals their full identities for the first time, the teenagers have told of their anger. Many of them were forced to call family and boyfriends to reassure them that they had not had sex with the contestant.





Denials: Emma Dodds, Roxanne Fowler, Cara Dolan and Natasha Hendry





Cocozza, who carried out the stunt in front of judges before singing, issued a hasty clarification and said the girls simply visited the bar where he worked while they were on holiday in Malia, Crete.



They agreed to have their names inked as part of a drunken dare. The names belonged to two groups of Scottish students.



Natasha Hendry, Emma Dodds, Cara Dolan and Roxanne Fowler, all 18, from West Calder, near Edinburgh, are on one cheek and Rachel Cathro, Jenna Robb and Ailsa Kane, from Dundee, are on the other.





Named: The tattoos





None has received an apology.



Yesterday Roxanne said: ‘We never would have done it if we thought he was going to show the whole world.



‘It’s horrible to think people would believe any of us – or even all four – slept with him.’

She said the group agreed to have their names tattooed because they thought it would be ‘a funny story to tell when we got home’.

What are you going here?: Wannabe pop star Samantha's audition for X Factor was interrupted by her boyfriend Paul, who joined her on stage



Contestants attending the live auditions at The X Factor normally brace themselves for either being booed or applauded.



But when wannabe Samantha Hallam took to the stage, she got an unexpected surprise.

Interrupting her audition, her boyfriend Paul Ricketts climbed on stage to ask her to marry him.

After she finishes singing Sex On Fire by Kings Of Leon, the 37-year-old from Hastings, says: 'What are you doing here?' as her boyfriend appears from the wings.



Ricketts appeals to the judges if he can 'borrow just a short moment of your time for Samantha', before getting down on one knee.



He tells her: 'I wanted to... will you marry me?'



To the delight of the judges and the audience at London's O2 Arena, she replies 'yes' and the pair embrace.



But viewers will have to wait and see until tonight's episode as to whether or not the judges say yes to her singing.
