The wrestler has taped a promo for the special anniversary event and will appear in person when it airs October 2.
It is now confirmed that The Rock will make a return to television by showing his face on MyNetworkTV's "SmackDown" 10th Anniversary. The wrestler-turned-actor's visit is the highlighted segment of the monumental event which is dubbed "Decade of SmackDown".
It is unclear, however, if The Rock will get inside the ring or simply appearing. For a fact, Triple H is also one of the featured guests on the show airing Friday, October 2 at 8/7c. The Rock, whose real name is Dwayne Johnson, has a history together with Triple H since they were the first fighters featured on the show's debut episode.
Apart from The Rock, the special episode will also boast other fighters from SmackDown and Raw including John Cena, Sean Michaels, and The Undertaker. They will be involved in an eight-man tag match.
As part of World Wrestling Entertainment, "SmackDown" has been one successful franchise with more than 2.7 billion people in the U.S. watching. It started on UPN in 1999 before moving to The CW in 2006 and eventually to MyNetwork in October 2008.
The Rock meanwhile began taking feature movie roles in early 2000s with his notable role in "The Mummy" series. His appearance in WWE events became more sporadic since his movie career took off starting 2005 onwards.
