Willie Nelson Charged with Marijuana Possession
Willie Nelson was charged with marijuana possession after 6 ounces of the drug was found aboard his tour bus in Texas, according to The Associated Press.
Nelson's bus pulled into a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas around 9 a.m. Friday. A search was ordered after an officer smelled pot, and the additional marijuana was discovered during the search, a Border Patrol spokesman told the AP. Nelson was among three people arrested.
The 77-year-old country music star claimed the pot was his and was taken into custody, according to the El Paso Times. He was released the same day after posting $2,500 bond. A court date has yet to be set.
