Paris Hilton's legal woes continue as judge rules she may owe movie makers $160,000

Bad week: Paris, pictured leaving the Miami court at a hearing last year, is being sued for breach of contract

It's not been the greatest week for Paris Hilton.

Following her arrest in Las Vegas for cocaine possession at the weekend, the socialite may be asked to cough up $160,000 for breaching the terms of a film contract.

Florida District Judge Federico Moreno ruled that Hilton, 29, violated the terms of of her contract with Worldwide Entertainment when she failed to promote 2006 movie Pledge This! in Europe.

However, there was a small amount of good news for the embattled star.

While Worldwide Entertainment wanted Hilton's $1 million fee in compensation for her neglected duties, the court found 'that these instances of failure to promote were worth $160,000

Flop: Paris, pictured on the set of Pledge This! played a wealthy snob in the 2006 National Lampoon movie

The film, a National Lampoon comedy in which Paris plays a wealthy snob, flopped upon release.

Hilton's lawyers argued that the work she did for the film amounted to much more than the $1 million payment she received for it.

The judge has asked to see more information about Hilton's contract before finalising the amount of compensation Hilton must pay.

This latest news tops off a bad summer for The Simple Life star.

She was stopped by police on holiday in South Africa over the summer on suspicion of marijuana possession before last weekend's Vegas arrest.

She has been charged with possession of a controlled substance after police found cocaine in a handbag she was carrying.

However the socialite is claiming that the bag was borrowed.
