Enamoured: Katy Perry chats to Elmo during a cameo appearance on Sesame Street

Katy Perry and Russell Brand are building up to one of the most hotly anticipated celebrity weddings of the year.

But it seems that someone else has turned Katy's head in the run up to the big day.

Katy Perry has made a cameo appearance on children's show Sesame Street, which showed the singer chasing beloved character Elmo around a cartoon set to a child-friendly version of her hit Hot N Cold.

Hot n cold: Perry performed a modified version of her famous hit, with the lyrics talking about opposites

Dressed in a rather low-cut green dress and a veil - perhaps in reference to her upcoming nuptials - the lyrics were changed so that Elmo and Perry sang about opposites.

The 25-year-old singer pulled a series of over-the-top facial expressions as she asked the puppet if he wanted to play and watched him speed off.

Bride-to-be: Perry wore a veil along with her low-cut green dress, which was perhaps a nod to her upcoming wedding

Perry shot the segment back in March.

'Sunny day today! I think I'm in lurv... Sorry rustyrockets!!' she tweeted at the time to fiance Russell Brand.

The I Kissed A Girl singer joins a long list of celebrities to appear on the show.

OTT: Perry's cartoon character style was right at home on the Sesame Street set

Past guests include David Beckham, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cameron Diaz, Ricky Gervais and Michella Obama.

The wholesome appearance is at odd with her wild hen weekend with Rihanna in Las Vegas.

On Sunday Perry tweeted: 'Signing up for a liver transplant now...'
