What's going on ear? Gemma Arterton unveils angel wing tattoo at Clash Of The Titans premiere

Legging it: Gemma Arterton braved the rainy British weather in a stunning LBD complete with fishnet panels at the premiere of Clash Of The Titans

She plays a mysterious spiritual guide in the movie.

Which is perhaps why Gemma Arterton decided last night was the night to unveil her angel wing tattoo at the Clash Of The Titans premiere in London.

With her hair scrapped back into a tight bun, it is the first time the 24-year-old actress has showed off the etching, which has been done in black ink behind her left ear.

On a night when most of her co-stars joined her in wearing black, Gemma still managed to steal the limelight as she slipped into a fishnet-style dress.

Bond Girl Gemma showed her British grit as she braved the brisk chill and drizzly weather in the flesh-baring ensemble, which came complete with fishnet panels.

The Kent-born star teamed her Gucci dress with Tiffany jewellery and a pair of Greek sandal-inspired towering heels.

But after taking time to sign autographs for fans, Gemma, who had to rush off early, was late for the start of her West End show, The Little Dog Laughed, at the Garrick Theatre.

And they wore black too: Her co-stars Alexa Davalos, left, and Jane March

American actress Alexa Davalos, one of Gemma's co-stars in Titans, wore a black Grecian-style dress while British-born talent Jane March slipped into an LBD and patterned tights.

Monster-slaying movie Clash Of The Titans - a remake of the 1981 film starring Laurence Olivier, Maggie Smith and Harry Hamlin - also counts Avatar actor Sam Worthington amongst its cast.

The 3D epic sees Worthington take on the role of Perseus, the son of Zeus.

The 33-year-old Australian actor, who also starred in Terminator Salvation, trained six hours a day for two months to get in shape.

As a sandal-wearing sword-wielding man-god, he leads a daring band of warriors against monsters, demons and beasts.

He is helped on his way by Arterton, who plays the part of mysterious spiritual guide Io.

Speaking to the Daily Record, Gemma said getting a role in the film was a dream come true as it was a favourtie of her childhood days.

Double the fun: Director Louis Leterrier (right) and Nicholas Hoult, who also stars in the movie

Joining in the fun: Strictly star Ali Bastian and ex-Brookside star Claire Sweeney

She said: 'When I was a kid I must have watched Clash Of The Titans on video about 50 times.

'I saw it so often with my sister Hannah that we could actually quote dialogue from the film. I also have to admit that I had a massive crush on Harry Hamlin.'

The new movie, directed by Louis Leterrier, also stars Ralph Fiennes as Hades, the vengeful god of the underworld, and Liam Neeson as Zeus, king of the gods.

The world premiere was held at the Empire cinema in Leicester Square in central London and the film, rated 12A, is set for release on April 2.
