Biceps bulging, it appears Christine Bleakley has been working hard on her fitness - which is probably wise if your career is about to go into overdrive.

The One Show host, pictured at the weekend in a black jumpsuit that showed off arms as muscular as Madonna's, is being lined up to take over from Tess Daly on Strictly Come Dancing.

BBC bosses say Miss Bleakley, 31, could draw in audiences in the same way as Cheryl Cole has on the X Factor

'Christine has become a star here and there is no way we want her to go,' said a BBC source.

With such a busy time ahead of her, she'll need to stay in shape.

Christine appears to have been sticking to a fitness regime since her epic water-ski across the English Channel in March.

And her muscular arms were brought on by her vigorous training sessions in preparation for the challenge, which she took on - and completed - to raise money for Sport Relief.

She said: The strain on your arms, legs and lower back is tough. I've been hitting the gym like mad to get my muscles ready.

'My arms are like tree trunks now. As soon as this is over I'm going to slim them down because they look ridiculous.'

The TV presenter was snapped this weekend making her way to see Chelsea footballer boyfriend Frank Lampard.

But eyebrows were raised at her attire as she appeared to be wearing the same clothes she wore for her former One Show co-star's leaving party.

Christine attended Adrian Chiles farewell drinks after the show - his last - finished wearing black skinny jeans, a black vest top with a big pink striped bow on the front - the same outfit she was snapped in just a day later.
