Lunch trip: Katie Holmes takes her daughter Suri to the Le Pain Quotidien bakery in Beverly Hills

She's only just turned four years of age, but Suri Cruise is already one of the world's most well-known children complete with her own diva-esque personality and wardrobe choices.

And she visited her favourite bakery, Le Pain Quotidien in Beverly Hills, with her mother Katie Holmes over the weekend.

The actress took her daughter to the eaterie for a spot of lunch and, ever the young madam, Suri was allowed to use her own five dollar bill.

She was wearing her treasured fuzzy pink pig slippers and a matching dress as her mother carried her out of the diner on their way home.

Katie, 31, who wore a pair of flared jeans with rips on them and a black vest with a floral design along the bottom, was accompanied by Tom Cruise's sister Anne on the family trip.

Last month Suri celebrated her fourth birthday and her parents threw a suitably extravagant party for their daughter.

They organised a cupcake decorating party in Los Angeles with specialist bakery Sprinkles supplying the treats for Suri and her friends.

The catering included some four dozen unfrosted cupcakes plus vanilla and milk chocolate frosting for the children to try their hand with.

In 2009 Suri celebrated her third birthday with a big trampoline bash at the family home in Beverly Hills.

Katie has been spending a lot of time in Queens, New York recently shooting her new movie, Son of No One, with co-star Channing Tatum.

And last week it was announced that she would be playing Jackie Kennedy in a new U.S. TV mini-series.

She will portray the former First Lady alongside Greg Kinnear as President John F. Kennedy in The Kennedys.

The eight-hour series, based on the life of the revered politician, marks a return to the small screen for Katie, who shot to fame playing Joey Potter in hit 90s TV series Dawson's Creek.

Meanwhile husband Tom, 47, has been shooting his latest film Knight And Day, in which he stars alongside Cameron Diaz.

The action star insists on performing all his own stunts and has even piled on some extra pounds in order to fulfill his role as one half of a fugitive couple.
