Closer than close: David and Victoria Beckham's rare, and touching, public display of affection

By Mail Online Reporter

Romantic: David, who showed off his heavily-tattooed arms in a fitted blue T-shirt, puts an arm around Victoria as they watch their children 'skydiving'

David and Victoria Beckham looked closer than ever on day out with Gordon and Tana Ramsay in Hollywood.

With an arm slung affectionately round Victoria's shoulder, David joked around with Gordon as they took pictures on their mobile phones.

The couple, who are close friends with the celebrity chef and his cookery writer wife, took their children to an indoor skydiving attraction at Universal CityWalk.

The footballer and the chef are rumoured to be opening a British-themed pub together in LA - but shop talk was firmly off the menu yesterday.

And while it was a fun day out for the Beckhams in the U.S., back in England David's sister was watching her partner being jailed for bombarding his ex-girlfriend with abuse.

'Chronic alcoholic' Kevin Briggs was locked up for making aggressive calls to his ex-girlfriend Lisa Gilbey.

Relations between Beckham and his jobless sister were already strained because of the footballer's disapproval of Lynn's estranged husband, Colin Every.

And there could be further upheaval in store for the Beckhams - after they sacked 12 of their staff.

Victoria and David will have to make do with a much smaller team of helpers after reducing their team by a third.

Earlier David had been out training with his team, LA Galaxy, in a bid to build up the strength in his legs.

The star, who was ruled out of England's World Cup campaign after rupturing his Achilles tendon while on loan to AC Milan, hopes to make his return from injury next month.

'It's just about getting strength back in my calf,' he said last week.

Meanwhile, a return to Premiership football may be on the cards for David - if the tycoon proposing to take over Blackburn Rovers as his way.

Indian businessman Ahsan Ali Syed said he has the 35-year-old in his sights.

He told the Daily Mail: 'I was 26 when I started following the Premier League. I used to like Blackburn back then and also used to follow Manchester United's fortunes because of David Beckham.

'If my finances allow and his intentions are positive then I would love to take Beckham.
