Never seeing Murphy in the past few years, Angelo Bertolotti remembers his actress daughter as a sweet and outgoing individual.
Angelo Bertolotti, the father of late actress Brittany Murphy, has broken his silence about the death of his actress daughter, telling AP he remembers her as an outgoing and sweet person. "She was just an absolute doll since she was born," Bertolotti said from his Branford, Fla., home.
"Her personality was always outward. Everybody loved her - people that made movies with her, people on a cruise - they all loved her. She was just a regular gal," he continued. "She was just talented. And I loved her very much."
Angelo Bertolotti divorced Brittany Murphy's mother Sharon when the late screen beauty was still young. He said he had never seen Murphy in the past few years and learned about her death from his son.
Murphy's family has previously issued a statement in the wake of her death on Sunday, December 20, saying "In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy." The family has since issued another statement that read, "The sudden loss of our beloved Brittany is a terrible tragedy. She was our daughter, our wife, our love and a shining star. We ask you to respect our privacy at this time."
Cause of Murphy's death is yet to be determined as investigation is still undergoing and autopsy hasn't been performed. In the meantime, funeral arrangements have not been announced.
