Film director Roman Polanski has been moved from a prison near Zurich to an undisclosed location before his release on bail scheduled for Friday, the Swiss Justice Ministry said. Ministry spokesman Folco Galli declined to give any details on where Polanski had been taken but confirmed he would spend his house arrest, which will begin on Friday, at his chalet in the skiing resort of Gstaad.
A general view taken during heavy snow falls shows the chalet 'Milky Way', which according to Swiss newspapers, is where Oscar-winning film director Roman Polanski is staying in, in the Swiss mountain resort of Gstaad, November 27, 2009. A Swiss court last week approved the release of Roman Polanski on bail of 4.5 million Swiss francs ($4.49 million) while the film director fights extradition to the United States over a 1970s child sex case. Polanski was arrested at the request of the United States when he arrived in Switzerland on September 26 to receive a lifetime achievement award at a film festival.
