Since giving birth to her daughter Isla Fisher has kept a relatively low profile while her famous partner Sacha Baron Cohen stole the limelight with his movie Bruno.

But the 34-year-old Australian actress is now enjoying a return to work as she films scenes for her upcoming movie Burke and Hare.

Fisher, who is best known for her roles in comedy The Wedding Crashers and Confessions of a Shopaholic, has been shooting alongside Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis in London this week.

Pegg and Serkis star as Edinburgh serial killers William Burke and William Hare in the film, which is set in the 19th century.

Fisher has been cast as Pegg's love interest Ginny.

Shooting in London today, she looked striking in a Georgian outfit of a blue dress, a fur stole and matching cuff and a decorative velvet had adorned with blue and brown ribbons.

Pegg, best known as the star of zombie movie Shaun of the Dead, is clearly enjoying filming alongside the flame-haired beauty.

Last week he boasted on Twitter: 'Thoroughly enjoying working with Shannon from Home & Away. Now I'm only one degree of separation from Mr. Fisher. Bonza.'

Fisher made her name in the Australian soap Home & Away but has made England her home after falling in love with Cohen, the star of Borat, Ali G and Bruno, eight years ago.

The pair have a two-year-old daughter, Olive and have had one of the longest engagement's in Hollywood.

There is speculation the couple will wed this year after Isla converted to Judaism, taking the Hebrew name Ayala.

Burke and Hare is due for release later this year and tells the story of the real life criminals were responsible for the deaths of at least 17 people from 1827 until 1828.

After murdering their victims, the pair then went on to sell the bodies to Dr Robert Knox, who dissected them in his anatomy classes at Barclay's anatomy school in Surgeon's Square.

They were assisted in their crimes by Burke's mistress Helen M'Dougal and Hare's wife Margaret Laird.

The pair were eventually caught when one of their lodgers tipped off the police after finding the body of their last victim, Marjory Campbell Docherty, under her bed.
