According to a short post from Jaimie Alexander on her Twitter, she and other cast for the film will start the rehearsals a month before its reported principal photography in early 2010.
The cast and crew for "Thor" will soon start preparing for the production of the film. On Thursday, December 3, actress Jaimie Alexander posted an update on her Twitter page, informing that she will begin rehearsals for the superhero film next week. "Is excited to start rehearsals next week! :) :)" the depicter of skilled Asgardian warrior Sif wrote.
The shooting of "Thor" itself is believed to be kicked off in the middle of January 2010. According to Production Weekly, the principal photography will first take place in Los Angeles. Then, in March, cast and crew will move to Santa Fe in New Mexico to continue filming until late April.
Meanwhile, the set of the action movie project has been built in November. Revealing the news was editor in chief of Marvel Comics Joe Quesada who tweeted, "Cast is in place, sets are being built and screenplay is brilliant." Additionally, comic book writer Brian Michael Bendis claimed he visited the set, writing on his Twitter page, "Visited the sets! I was in Odin's chamber!"
"Thor" is an epic adventure that spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. The story centers on Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. He later learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.
Chris Hemsworth has been set to portray the title character and will share screen with Natalie Portman, who takes the role of Thor's first love Jane Foster. Some other actors who will appear in the film include Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, and Samuel L. Jackson. Directed by Kenneth Branagh, the movie is scheduled to be premiered in the U.S. on May 20, 2011.
