Shawnee Smith is back in action as Jigsaw's apprentice, Amanda Young, as seen in the new still for the sixth installment of the 'Saw' series.
After pictures of Tobin Bell's Jigsaw and Peter Outerbridge's William Easton were outed earlier, a shot at another character in "Saw VI" is unraveled. Brought forth by Bloody-Disgusting, the fresh picture gives out the appearance of Shawnee Smith as Jigsaw's apprentice, Amanda Young, in the sixth film.
Smith's return as Amanda had been confirmed in early 2009 when "Saw" producer Mark Burg mentioned, "Shawnee Smith is in Saw VI." It is said that she will be seen in the movie in new flashback sequences, and that Amanda will play a significant role in the outcome of the latest installment of the horror thriller franchise.
To open wide in the U.S. on October 23, "Saw VI" uncovers that Special Agent Strahm is dead, and Detective Hoffman has emerged as the unchallenged successor to Jigsaw's legacy. However, when the FBI draws closer to Hoffman, he is forced to set a game into motion, and Jigsaw's grand scheme is finally understood.
"The Strangers" editor Kevin Greutert takes over the directing part from "Saw V" helmer David Hackl. Screenwriter duo Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton return to pen the script. Mark Rolston, Betsy Russell
