Radiohead's Thom Yorke, Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea, Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker and Mauro Refosco band together, forming a supergroup
Thom Yorke, the lead singer of band Radiohead, has a side project with Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist/keyboardist Michael "Flea" Balzary. Also recruited as the new band's personnel are producer Nigel Godrich, Beck's drummer Joey Waronker and percussionist Mauro Refosco.
"In the past couple of weeks I've been getting a band together for fun to play the eraser stuff live and the new songs etc.. to see if it could work," Thom wrote on Radiohead's official website. Along with the announcement, he posted a picture of the new band. "Here's a photo.. its me, joey waronker, mauro refosco, flea and nigel godrich," so he stated.
The band are yet to have any name. But, they will debut their first live performance on October 4 and 5 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. "The set will not be very long cuz ..well ...we haven't got that much material yet! but come and check it out if you are in the area. we've also got locals Lucky Dragons playing," Thom ended his message.
