"I don't find any particular pleasure in being an attention-seeker," the movie hottie tells AnOther Man magazine in an interview for its issue 9.
Though being considered as one of the "it" guys in showbiz, Robert Pattinson admits he isn't the kind of "an attention-seeker," telling British man fashion magazine AnOther Man in an interview for its issue 9 he doesn't find "any particular pleasure" in being so. "I don't want to be an actor for the sake of it," he stresses.
Speaking of his role as vampire Edward Cullen in "Twilight" that rose his name to stardom, Robert reveals he found it hard to buy a copy of the novel in his native U.K. before his audition. "It's strange because even though the figures show that the books were successful and sold millions of copies, you couldn't even buy them in London," he claims.
"I tried a couple of bookshops and they weren't available. Hardly anyone I knew had read them apart from one girl, a friend of my sister," he continues, adding "I don't think even the production company had any idea the extent of the success they had on their hands until the weekend of its release."
Robert, who kicked off his career in Hollywood as a model, also confesses that he tends to consider acting as "the hardest thing" he has ever done in his life. Of it he explains, "Annoyingly, there are so few parts I feel I can add anything to, or that I want to do."
In companion to the interview, Robert Pattinson also poses for AnOther Man's cover and some inside pictures. Stylist Nicola Formichetti helps him channeling James Dean's style for the photo shoot done by Hedi Slimane. Issue 9 of AnOther Man will go on sale in the U.K. on Thursday, October 1.
